Games released (style guide)
From IFWiki
All pages in the "Games Released in Year" group must begin with the Template:GamesReleasedNavBox.
There will be up to nine optional sections on the page, dividing the game listings by platform. Those sections are: ADRIFT, Alan, Glulx, Hugo, TADS 2, TADS 3, Z-code, Other Platforms, and Multiple Platforms. The section names should be internal links to the appropriate authoring system's page in IFWiki; the "Other Platforms" section should link to Platform.
Do not include empty sections. For example, if there are no TADS 3 games in 1995, do not add a TADS 3 section on that year's page.
Excluding the Other Platforms section, each section should contain a simple bulleted listing of game references sorted in alphabetical order by the game's title. See Game reference (style guide) for more details on what a game reference should look like. See Game reference list (style guide) for details on what is meant by alphabetical order.
- The Other Platforms section should be subdivided into subsections as needed for platforms not otherwise covered. These subsections should also be simple bulleted lists of game references in alphabetical order.
- NEW: Beginning with the Games Released in 2006 page, Glulx and Z-code games will be subdivided into Inform 6 and Inform 7 listings as appropriate.
Because of the potentially long length of a Games Released page, game references must be kept brief. Do include the names of the competitions that a game was entered in, but omit all mention of where it placed. Omit all mention of what awards the game received, e.g.: XYZZY Awards.
- NEW: The year that a game was released should be omitted from all game references on a "games released in year" page, since the year is understood from the page title. Exception: the Games Released in 1970s page should still note release years when known.
Game references may temporarily include external links to that game's homepage, the game's page on Baf's Guide, or from where a reader can download the game. However, when the game has its own page on IFWiki, please move those external links to the game's page, and remove the external links from the "games released" page.
