How It Begins
“You and your lovely accomplice have thwarted me for the last time,” cries Baron von Glockenspiel from the door of the laboratory. “Because of you, I am forced to abandon and destroy yet another laboratory. But this time – aha! – this time, I shall destroy you with it. Regard the globe suspended above you. Even now it is glowing with aetheric energies drawn from the thunderstorm without. Once it has reached full capacity, it will explode, utterly destroying this laboratory, this castle, quite possibly the village down the road, and most certainly...you yourselves!”
And with those final triumphant and mocking words he slams the door shut, and you hear the key turn in the lock, leaving yourself, Gerald Manly, Victorian gentleman and adventurer, and your accomplice, the lovely and courageous Cynthia deLite, trapped in the doomed laboratory!
