How It Begins

You are an Electro-Mech Systems Group model Turing-3x Mech; that is, you're a robot. You are equipped with two arms: an AmbiArm Pro LX as your left arm and an AmbiArm Pro GX as your right

You complete your boot-up (noting malfunctioning hardware with port 1 which controls your left arm), to hear the tail end of a discussion between Dr. Kay Thompson and James Garcia. Thompson worries that the latest mech (you) might go on a rampage like the last one; only one arm was salvageable from that mech. Garcia assures Thompson that you have the most accurate and powerful Asimov system yet and there are no more loopholes. Thompson leaves.

You are in a testing lab. Besides Garcia, you see a table with a cable and a black Asimov box. Garcia notices you've finished booting and orders you not to leave that spot and not to do anything with the cable or box. In a couple moments, he will ask you to xyzzy, run a self-test, and then plugh.

Notable Features

  • The player character is a robot.

Trivia and Comments

  • The Asimov box is a reference to Isaac Asimov's well-known Three Rules of Robotics.
  • The commands xyzzy and plugh are normally just IF in-jokes, but for this game, they have an in-game purpose.
