Fortran

Fortran (formerly FORTRAN) is a general-purpose programming language developed by IBM in the late 1950s, and remains in use to the present day.

Fortran was the programming language used to create the Colossal Cave Adventure, also called simply Adventure, regarded as the first widely-known piece of interactive fiction.
