(Redirected from The Doppelganger)

A. J. Shepherd started writing adventures for the Oric and had at least three adventures published in Oric Computing and Oric Owners User Group from 1983 to 1984. He also wrote adventures for the Microtan 65 from early 1984 to late 1985, but it is not known if any of these were published. His Microtan 65 adventures were ported to the Atari ST in 1988 and then to MS-DOS in 1991.

During most of this period, he wrote under the pseudonym of 'The Doppel-Ganger' or 'The Doppelganger', although he did not hide his real name. He played on this pseudonym in several ways. Some of his games were supposedly published by Doppelganger Adventures Incorporated, his Doppy & Pru trilogy started with Doppyworld and this game introduced a very sophisticated NPC movement system called 'Doppymation'.
