How it begins

I don't like talking about this unusual homicide case, but since you're here...

It was a cold April Monday morning. We were told it was probably a break-in gone wrong, and now there was a body. The victim was Father Danvers, a Roman Catholic Priest, murdered in the presbytery. My partner Danny and I beat the forensics to the scene. Officers Jimenez and Regis had arrived first, responding to the initial call by the cleaner who found the front door ajar.

Jimenez looked a little freaked. He reported that the priest had been brutally stabbed multiple times, and since he was Catholic himself, I suppose he was taking it personally somehow. He also told me that the body was in the study, the study window was broken, that he and Regis didn't touch or move anything, and that the killer was gone.

I was carrying my Beretta 8045F, my badge, and my cellphone. It was time to look at the crime scene.
