How it begins
On May 5, 1979, to everyone's amazement, an autistic orphan elf emerged from the ground and put the small hommlet [sic] of Newberry, South Carolina on the map. You made your way to the farmhouse of a widower [sic] named Lucille who took you in, raised and educated you, and turned you into the law-abiding citizen you are today: Delvyn the Grey Elf.
Today, school's out for the summer. You awaken in your bedroom* to Lucille's call and the delicious smell of pancakes. You naked. You want to explore an abandoned house you discovered earlier, but breakfast comes first.
* Your bedroom may appear to be completely featureless, but if you "examine bedroom", you'll see that it contains a bed, a desk, a bow, and a quiver of arrows.
