Template talk:In-comp

From IFWiki

This is the talk page for Template:In-comp. See How to edit IFWiki to find out about using talk pages, and editing the wiki generally.

I think the text "No edits in comp please" is not, or at least no longer, ideal: people certainly shouldn't put any spoilers or opinions about the game on its IFWiki page, but now that IF Comp reviews are allowed during the competition, they (not just me ;-)) should at least be allowed to add links to these reviews on the page... --Eriorg 16:43, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

I've been blithely adding my reviews and had totally missed this icon - although I did check to see what others were doing first. I agree with you - maybe it'd be better as "Only add review links during comp", if that would fit. --Rhian 13:25, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Well, it's not necessarily only review links: for instance, if there are any mistakes in other sections of the page, or if (it happened last year) a game doesn't entirely work with some interpreters, editing the page would also be useful. What really is forbidden is spoilers of all kinds (including, probably, the very mildly spoilery "How It Begins" texts) and, of course, all judgments about the game. --Eriorg 14:42, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

FWIW, I was pretty confused about what this png meant before finding the talk page. My first thought was that it was some kind of protest against IFComp games (not their wiki pages) being updated during the comp. I think it'd be nice to explain what it means officially somewhere, on the template page perhaps. bg (talk) 23:06, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
