How it begins

The game begins with an introductory screen explaining the premise and goal. This screen also offers a menu: 1. Start (to start the game), 2. Credits (to read the credits), and 3. Info (mostly how long the game took to write).

It's not explained who or what you are. You are carrying nothing, and stand in Hell near an angel, a devil, and a human. It is your task to escort all three of these entities to Heaven. However, you can only escort one at a time (you carry them on your back), and it is unwise to leave the devil alone with either the angel or the human.

Notable features

  • The game is just one puzzle based on the Fox/Chicken/Corn puzzle. It's not really interactive fiction. (Unfortunately, it's not much of a puzzle either. Most of the puzzle's constraints don't seem to be implemented.)
  • Very sparse world-building. There's no scenery items or room furnishings (except one at the end), and the three NPCs are minimally implemented.
  • Some verb awkwardness. You must TAKE (but not GET) an NPC to pick one up, and LEAVE (but not DROP) them elsewhere. However, escorting NPCs isn't done via your inventory, and these verbs aren't understood in a general fashion. For example, attempting to leave an NPC on Earth simply isn't understood.
  • Phantom item. The button at the end of the game isn't implemented as a game object, only the "PRESS BUTTON" command.
