CRASH

(Redirected from Crash)

CRASH was a British magazine about the Spectrum, initially published from February 1984 (issue #1) until to April 1992 (issue #98) when it was "incorporated" into Sinclair User.

The magazine was resurrected in 2017 by Retro Fusion in the form of the Crash Annual 2018. Further annuals followed in 2018/19 and 2020/21, and lead to the copyright for the brand being purchased and a new monthly/bi-monthly magazine launched in December 2020.

All of its issues except #1–#3 and #65–#90 had a column about Spectrum adventure (mainly IF) games: Adventure Trail by:

  • #4 (May 1984)–#48 (January 1988): Derek Brewster.
  • #49 (February 1988)–#50 (March 1988): various people.
  • #51 (April 1988)–#60 (January 1989): Samara.
  • #61 (February 1989)–#64 (May 1989): Phil King.
  • #91 (August 1991)–#93 (October 1991): Paul Rigby.
  • #94 (December 1991)–#98 (April 1992): Ian Osborne.

The revived magazine features a similar column:
