Floyd is a German authoring system created by Oliver Berse. It is a described as a very simplified and object-oriented variant of C and similar languages. In April 2010 it relaunched as Java library. It is available for Windows and Linux. Presumably it is named after Floyd, the robot companion in Infocom's games Planetfall and Stationfall.
