How it begins
You are the new owner of an African Zuni Doll. The doll is said to be inhabited by a bloodthirsty spirit, but harmless as long as it wears a magical talisman, which prevents it from coming to life.
You are lying in bed in your apartment, wearing a bathrobe and carrying a Zippo lighter. Your cat, Elmo, has just arrived, and drops the talisman into your lap.
