The IF Review-a-thon is an annual event created by Tabitha in 2024 to spur reviews of games that haven't received much previous reviewing attention (defined as currently having five reviews or fewer across the Interactive Fiction Community Forum and IFDB). The Review-a-thon runs annually in July. To submit games for inclusion, authors are asked to add them to a dedicated IFDB poll (or ask the organizer to add them).
During the event, participating reviewers post reviews on the forum, IFDB, or both. There is an optional bingo-card component to the event, encouraging reviewers to play and review a diverse set of games. The event is unofficially known as "RAT" or "RaT" and has thus adopted a logo depicting a rat.
In 2025, a rule was added that Review-a-thon will not allow games that include art, code, or writing produced by generative AI.
