The second annual IF Review-a-thon had 16 participating reviewers and yielded 89 reviews. The rules of this year's event were changed slightly from the previous year's, now accepting any game with fewer than five reviews across the Intfiction forum and IFDB. This change made eligible some Spring Thing games, which had previously been excluded.
While the event was originally scheduled to run from July 1st to July 31st, on July 30th the organizer announced an extension through August 7th in light of the three-day Intfiction forum outage that occurred at the end of July. On August 6th, after running a poll to assess community opinion, the organizer announced a further extension of the event through August 23rd.
