The 2024 IF Review-a-thon was the inaugural edition of the event. It was announced as an event meant to spur reviews of games released outside the major IF community competitions (i.e., IF Comp and Spring Thing). It yielded 163 reviews from 14 reviewers.
This edition of the event included a fundraising component where people could sponsor reviewers at a certain amount of money to be donated per review, in support of a GoFundMe campaign for a member of the IF community.
The logo for this edition of the event depicted a tuna, as "thon" means tuna in French. However, due to the common abbreviation of the event name as "RAT" or "RaT", subsequent logos have featured a rat.
