How it begins
You are Gikot Krank, an inventor living in England near Melton, carrying nothing. You are out for a stroll when you discover a circular purple spaceship has crashed in the meadow. The scene is utterly silent. Besides the ship and its ladder, you can see broken trees, mushrooms, flowers, mud, and the path back to your house to the east. You consider what you could do with a spaceship, if you were able to make it work...

- It's unclear if "Valbo" is simply Gustav Bodell's nickname, or if Valbo is a co-author's name.
