Olitext was an API (Application Programming Interface) for creating interactive fiction games using the Java programming language. It was developed by Jacek Olszak. The project included two subprojects: an API for Java 5.0 and an Eclipse plugin.
In 2006, Jacek Olszak announced that he was working on a new version, developed in Ruby. This new version's features included: support for multiplayer games, and dual client support (allowing games to be played either via a graphical user interface or via a web browser).
The Olitext project currently seems to be dead and gone from the Internet. The project's homepage was hosted at the domain olitext.org, but the domain is now dead (and not saved by the Internet Archive).
