The sixteenth IntroComp was organized by Jacqueline A. Lott, shadowed by Xalavier Nelson Jr. A rule change for IntroComp 2017 gave entrants the option to submit an excerpt from the beginning, middle, or end of an IF work. In previous years, only the beginning of a work could be entered.

- Intent to Enter Deadline: June 30, 2017.
- Introductions Submission Deadline: July 31, 2017.
- Voting Deadline: August 31, 2017.
- Posting of Results: September 4, 2017.
- Deadline to claim prizes: September 4, 2018.

11 entries were released on August 2, 2017.
