How it begins

You are an ambassador wearing a fedora hat and carrying a hand telescope. You are also the guest of Lady Amilia, whose endless tiresome chatter you've had to endure for a fortnight. And now you're trapped with her on a long, plodding elephant ride through the Northlands. You're desperate to get away.

Trivia and Comments

  • "Angela M. Horns" is an anagram of "Graham Nelson".
  • Graham Nelson's regular column in Acorn User magazine covered the 1996 IFComp in issue 178 (Feb 1997); he had this to say:

The 1996 winner is Angela M. Horns, an Acorn owner from the isle of Eigg, for The Meteor, the Stone, and a Long Glass of Sherbet. It might also be called 'A nice puzzle involving elephants, a dungeon to explore and a very long title.' The player takes the part of an Ambassador being given conducted tours of an Empire, but with a secret mission to find out what's really afoot. Not such an original milieu but all good fun and congratulations to Angela.
