This page concerns the interactive-fiction specific software. It's unrelated to the version control system of the same name, which confusingly is used to develop many IF-related projects, such as Inform 7 and Counterfeit Monkey, not to mention Git-the-interpreter itself.

Git is an interpreter for the Glulx virtual machine. The interpreter was written by Iain Merrick, and is now maintained by David Kinder. It is optimized for speed and may be significantly faster than Glulxe.

It runs under Unix, Windows and PocketPC. The webpage is, as of 2014, offline.
