How it begins

First, an animated ASCII art sequence spells out the game's title.

You are Mattie, an agent of the Sacromys Pemcoangs Secret Service, and you've just been summoned to headquarters by "T" for a new mission. When you manage to get T's attention, he informs you that the people are getting restless because of a lack of Spells. T has deduced that the Spellmakers have been disappearing. The last to disappear is old Drew Tungshinach, much beloved for his joyful, sparkly spells. Your mission is to find Drew and return him to the community.

Notable features

  • Animated ASCII art title page sequence.
  • The player character is a lesbian in a committed relationship. This is presented as an ordinary characteristic and no more noteworthy than the fact that Mattie also has a fondness for sweets.
