How it begins

Quotebox: Learn to obey before you command. -- Solon

You've been having a series of nightmares about Leo, standing at the edge of a cliff. No matter what you do, a bell rings and Leo disappears over the edge...

You awake abruptly on your bed, wearing a purple nightgown and carrying nothing. Your bedroom has its door to the south and windows on the other three sides. It's ridiculously early in the morning, but someone is insistently ringing the doorbell downstairs. Whether you race to the front door or not, you'll eventually hear Leo's voice call: "Matilda! Are you in there? Please open the door!" You'd better find out what he wants.
