How it begins
Dimly visible against the twilight sky, great towers rise from the desert. Their mirrored sides reflect the blood-red brightness of the setting sun. The air above the city is choked with rush-hour flyers.
The klaxon sounds briefly, and your cell door rattles open.
You’ve only been in this prison a few days, and you’re not confident that you’ll make it through too many more.
